There are many diverse and varied high blood pressure remedies that are used to control and manage high blood pressure without the need for taking pills and medication from a doctor. However, anything that is taken and researched, should be done in consultation with a medical professional.

High blood pressure (or hypertension) is known as the silent killer and is a condition that 95 percent of sufferers do not even know they have it. Because there are a wide variety of symptoms and warnings, they often times either go unnoticed or are put down as one offs. Indeed, for some people there are no warnings or symptoms to alert them to what is going on inside their bodies.

Please note though that high blood pressure is a serious condition that can lead to strokes, heart attacks, kidney failure, blindness and if this happens, it will severely affect a person's life.

Salt should always be reduced since it is high in sodium. Any increased amount of salt we put in our bodies means that the body will attempt to hold onto fluids to attempt to dilute the sodium. What this means is that anyone who is carrying excess fluids makes their bodies work harder. This is because the body tries to circulate the fluids around the body. This in turn will elevate the blood pressure in the body. One of the best known and easiest high blood pressure remedies around is to reduce the amount of salt used.

Increasing the amount of potassium that you take into your body is also a winning way to manage high blood pressure. Bananas are high in potassium, as are oranges, potatoes and milk. This is the reason people who suffer with high blood pressure are frequently advised to eat a banana a day.

Eat a clove of garlic raw or cooked is this is also a well documented way to control blood pressure. Although there is no clear and universally reason why garlic works so well lowering high blood pressure. However, as garlic is know to reduce cholesterol, this will clearly aid anyone looking for high blood pressure remedies. Also worth a note, garlic is a great substitute for salt when cooking!

Combine these remedies for lowering blood pressure with some regular exercise, keep the body well hydrated and most people will find they have a winning chance of reducing their blood pressure.
